It is always fascinating and welcoming to hear from our audience...
Last week I asked you: "What would be your top 2 questions when it comes to collecting the great works of Stephen
King?"
In return, each person who filled out the question was automatically entered in a new contest for a chance to win the upcoming deluxe edition of "Salem's Lot" of the Doubleday Years collection.
"I think this survey is a waste of time other than receiving an entry to the [Salem's Lot] drawing. One question would not suffice for any collector!"
I agree, there
is no way only one question would ever suffice and maybe a few did fill out the survey just for the contest entry.
However, there is much interest here because up to now, we have received 277 entries with over 550 questions. These overwhelming results is a testament to the popularity of collecting Stephen King books and to the topic of book collecting in
general.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
With over 550 questions, some of them similar in nature, it was tough to pick just a few to publish on our blog, but we did, and you can see them all here:
In terms of what's the most important aspect of acquiring a collectible
book for your library or collection, someone stated:
"I look
for the reputation of the bookseller and I prefer to buy things from a reputable seller. If I do consider buying signed books from a site like [stick your favorite online portal shopping site here], I'm very cautious of the authenticity of the signature, unless it's from a trusted seller that I've had a good experience with in the past."
Another person wrote in:
"How do you know if the Signature is real? There are so many forgerys out there. Also the condition of the book. lots of times it is received and not in the condition stated on the internet. Always a concern as to what the seller writes in their own words that may have a double standard ."
A few more received were...
Tony asks “What is the best way (outside of S/L books) to ensure the signature is authentic?
